At the suggestion of Justin I decided to read Tim Krabbé's book The Rider and found it one of the more inspiring things I've read. Anyone who has ever raced competitively can relate to this guy, regardless of skill level. Its translated from Dutch so the dialogue comes through a little funny at times but its still a great read.
